Vinted Members Express Displeasure About Size Updates
Vinted users have been reacting angrily due to a modification that led to listings displaying inaccurate size information.
The popular resale platform has updated its sizing categories for female and kids' apparel but did not contact every member regarding the update.
Social Media Response
Numerous buyers and vendors have taken to social media claiming that product pages now present a different size category compared to what was initially listed because of the remapping.
The company said the new system was more in line with comparable marketplaces.
It has advised users to check their listings and adjust the sizing manually where appropriate, resulting in member annoyance.
Size Classification Updates
Earlier, the measurements included one number and one letter, for instance S/8 or M/10.
The updated approach includes a letter with a size spectrum such as S/UK 8-10.
With some products, the measurements have been reclassified - for example a size L was previously a 12 but currently displays as UK 16-18.
Shopper Experiences
Frankie Bridger, who creates plus-size fashion videos, explained the modification "makes transactions more difficult".
"Not many brands say XL is a 20-22," which is what Vinted now does.
Another user, based in Glasgow, said garments she listed on Vinted with size 14 labels were showing in the marketplace as measurements 20-22.
"If buyers measuring 20-22 acquire them they will likely be quite upset," she stated.
Required Changes
Another shopper, located in England, said she had been left angered because the modification necessitated personal updates the measurements for "each individual item".
"Personally, this is quite irritating, because of my ongoing medical condition and platform income has been essential after experiencing income reduction," she said.
Marketplace Information
The service features exceeding 100 million users, including 18 million in the UK.
It has emerged as a preferred choice compared to resale services such as eBay and Depop.
This represents another occasion when a surprising modification within the service has received backlash: earlier, the service retracted a modification regarding delivery choices following member complaints.
